ELA Teacher and Author Stefania Shaffer

After a successful career in corporate America, Stefania Shaffer began to follow her passion for education and writing. Her first book, Heroes Don’t Always Wear Capes, was published by Pressman Books in the fall of 2005. The book tells the story of school girl Vandra Zandinski as she progresses through school and comes to learn a number of invaluable lessons both in and out of the classroom. In 2013, Stefania Shaffer published her second book, 9 Realities of Caring for an Elderly Parent: A Love Story of a Different Kind. This work addresses a concern shared by more than 45 million adult children in America who must begin making decisions on behalf of their elderly parents.

Ms. Shaffer earned her teaching credentials from San Francisco State University. She currently works as a teacher of English language arts. In her free time, she enjoys staying active by practicing equestrian riding. When she wants to relax, she spends time illustrating and writing.
